The best AI tool for real estate agents depends on the job you need done. Claude fits writing in your own voice, ChatGPT fits all around use with images and voice, Perplexity fits research with sources, and Gemini fits agents who work inside Google.
The best AI tool for real estate agents depends on the job you need done. Claude fits writing in your own voice, ChatGPT fits all around use with images and voice, Perplexity fits research with sources, and Gemini fits agents who work inside Google. You do not need all four.
I'm Polly Keene, founder of Keene on AI and an AI Trainer and Consultant for real estate agents and REALTORS. Before I taught AI, I spent seven years as a licensed REALTOR on a top producing San Antonio team.
These tools change fast, and every comparison ages quickly. This guide reflects what the tools do as of September 2026, so use it to choose a starting point, then test the tool on your own work.
No single tool wins every task. Here is how each one fits:
Use Claude when the writing has to sound like you. It handles listing descriptions, seller updates, and client follow ups well, and its Projects feature stores your voice, rules, and examples so every draft starts closer to done. Use ChatGPT when you want one tool that does a little of everything, including images and voice, and when you like brainstorming in one place.
Use Perplexity when you need an answer you can check. It responds with linked sources by default, which helps with neighborhood research, local news, and quick fact checks. ChatGPT and Claude can now search the web too, so freshness alone no longer sets Perplexity apart. The sources are the point. Use Gemini when your work already lives in Google, since it is built into Google Workspace.
Follow these steps:
That one test tells you more than any review will.
Most agents are still choosing. In NAR's 2026 REALTORS Technology Report, 48% of agents said they use AI daily or weekly, while 31% experiment with it occasionally. Picking one main tool is what moves you from experimenting to a daily habit.
Try the six steps this week with one real task. To see how the two most popular tools compare head to head, keep reading in Insights. If you want help choosing and setting up, see how we can work together, book a call, or message me @keeneonai on Instagram.
No single tool wins every task. Claude fits natural sounding writing and Projects that hold your voice, ChatGPT fits all around use with images and voice, Perplexity fits research with linked sources, and Gemini fits agents who work in Google. Choose based on your most common tasks, and test with your own work.
No. Pick one main tool and add a second only when a real task needs it. Most agents do well with Claude or ChatGPT as the main tool and Perplexity for research.
Claude and ChatGPT both write strong listing descriptions. Run the same prompt in each, keep the draft that sounds most like you, and add one detail only you know. Then check every fact against your listing sheet and MLS.
Perplexity is the strongest fit for research because it answers with linked sources by default. Open the sources and check the numbers against your MLS before you share anything with a client. ChatGPT and Claude can also search the web, so freshness alone no longer sets Perplexity apart.
Gemini is built into Google Workspace, so it fits agents who spend the day in Gmail, Docs, and Drive. It can also read video and audio, which helps when you want a summary of a recording. Test it on a real task, because results vary by prompt.
ChatGPT can create images, and Claude does not. If AI edits or stages a listing photo, follow your MLS and state rules on labeling, because requirements vary by location. Never use AI to hide a property's condition.
All four offer free versions, and paid plans add higher limits and extra features. Plans and prices change often, so check each tool's current pricing page before you decide. Start free and upgrade only when limits slow down real work.
Recheck every few months. These tools release new models and features quickly, and a comparison from last year may no longer hold. Run your same test prompt again, and switch only if another tool clearly serves you better.
